Being Conscious Creators

This entry is far overdue...
I've been hesitant to write about it only because I want to do my experience justice.
I want to share an amazing 3 days that I had but I want to share it so that YOU will understand how absolutely amazing and life-changing it was.
I want to share it in a way that you will want better for yourself too.

This experience was called "Conscious Creator."

This event was put together by Strongbrook.

At the last minute I was able to sign Maryn up to come with me.
I am SO grateful that she was able to come so we could do this together.
She needed it as much as I did.

We also did it with Danielle, Marianne, my mom and Heather and Matt Brinkerhoff.
Loved bonding with these people.

Warning: this might get long.

Thursday was filled with yummy food, good presentations and lots of positive energy.
Our facilitator Kris Krohn led us on a journey of ourselves asking us questions like,
"what is holding me back from living my best self?"
"what would it take for me to have everything I want in my life?"
"Do you believe it's possible to have more money than you need?  A thriving marriage?  A great job?  Do you believe it's possible to HAVE IT ALL?"

Everything I have in my life is because of a thought or a seed planted... the good, the bad, the ugly, the positive, the negative.  I am always creating because I am always thinking.

What energy do I bring to my life?
What do I attract into my life?
Am I attracting what I want in my life?
Do you feel like you don't deserve it all or that those are reserved for 'other people'?

We were given an arrow in which we wrote on it a limiting belief about our self that was holding us back.  Then we each took turns breaking it symbolizing overcoming a fear; leaving the past behind us; starting over; getting rid of a limiting belief.

Check out the way we were to break it...
right in the soft part of your throat.
For some people this wasn't a hard way to break an arrow,
but some had tears and a lot of fear.
It did require physical strength but even more mental power.

We all have beliefs about ourselves but in the end, what beliefs serve us?
We sometimes hang on to negative beliefs because that is where we are comfortable and believe that "this is just the way I am."
NOT TRUE!

Being a victim doesn't serve us.
Living in the past gives us regret and living in the future makes us fear.
Living in the present gives us POWER because we only have control over the present.

Friday morning we woke up and headed out to a FUN day of lots of adventures.
After being divided up in teams we began some activities that would teach us a lot about ourselves.

We had to walk on a rope, completely relying and trusting and leaning against our partner to see how far on the rope we could travel.

I thought my partner and I did a great job trusting, relying and communicating.
Maryn and Danielle were partners in this one.
Mom and Carolyn were partners.

Marianne was in a different group than us but we caught this picture of her and her team.
Another team activity required us to work together in coming up with a plan to get all team members across a series of ropes, balancing and helping each other.
If you fell then you had to start over.
This one was tricky for our group.

Then, the big one that I had feared all day long...
climbing up high
and jumping.
I was quite extremely very disappointed that his was the only picture of me doing this.
Where were my fans?
But, I didn't die.
I got up there and jumped
but I do have to say that I would have been fine not doing this because I hate that feeling I get in my stomach when I fall.
But I did it and overcame.
Here goes mom for her turn.
This is an inspirational story.
She was getting ready to inspire a whole bunch of people and she didn't even know it.
a thumbs up to start the ascent
and she starts climbing

Now keep in mind that this here is a 70 year old grandma doing this.
She actually had no problem with most of this climb
just the last step up was a bit tricky, but we attribute her great leg strength to all her awesome work at CURVES.
She stood at the top for a some breathing and taking in the view.  I wish there was a picture of the crowd below cheering her on, telling her she was awesome and amazing and inspiring and lots of "you can do its".  She even swayed that tree back and forth
ON PURPOSE.
I tell you what... I was so proud of my mom!!!
The crowd did the countdown from 10 to 1 and then she jumped.
A millisecond after this picture was taken, she reached back and grabbed the rope behind her.  She kept falling but the rope didn't and quickly we knew that something had happened.
As she slowed down and swinging her way to the bottom we could tell that she did something to her arm.
Just because she grabbed the rope the leaders knew she had hurt herself.
As the men around were trying to get her cumfy and assess the situation she immediately said, "I broke my arm."  She wouldn't let anyone touch her and she just asked to be taken to the ER.
I have a love/hate thing with these pictures.
I cringe when I replay what happened from one second to the next as mom jumped off that tree.
If you didn't know that a very amazing lady was siting in great pain right there it would be a pretty Winter scene. But I LOVE this picture because I am so thankful for the 6  attentive Priesthood holders that were with her every moment.  They came to her, comforted her, helped her to the car, gave her a Priesthood blessing while James drove her off to the hospital.
I was very grateful for them being worthy and living in a way to honor their Priesthood at that moment when it was needed.
I knew mom was in pain but I tell you...
she is a tough lady.
As tough as they come.
Just as a side note my dad had already done this Conscious Creator experience but he wanted to do it so he could be with Mom.  He repeated over and over for us to take care of her, to be in her same group, to watch over her, to stay by her side.

When we had to call him to tell him that his wife was on her way to the hospital we felt like we had let him down in a BIG gigantic way.  He felt some guilt that he wasn't there to protect her.   Actually, he felt a lot of guilt.  This experience wasn't his fault, or our fault or her fault.  It just happened.
This was a great time to apply all that we had been learning to change the way we were looking at things.  More on that...

Before all the excitement, Maryn had he turn to climb and jump.
(next pictures are out of order.)
She just ran right up that log.

She stood at the top of that tree and with outstretched arms yelled,
"if I can do this I can do ANYTHING!"
I was so proud of her.
I wanted her to feel the power of that moment and the strength in that statement.
I prayed that she would believe what she had just said.
Then she flew right into the hair, hitting that ball.
Yeeha!
I was so proud of her.
Earlier in the day we did the classic trust fall.
Danielle checking to make sure we were going to be true to our word in catching her.
This was one that Mom swore she would NEVER do in her life time.
For some reason it brought her a lot of anxiety.
But she did it.
As she lay in every one's arms we raised her up and rocked her back and forth.
She spread her arms out and embraced the moment.
I was SO proud of her.
After it got dark we had to do the "wall climb."
A few rules to it, no one could talk.  Silence.
Only 3 guys on top could pull the people up and over
and we had to get everyone, 80 people over in 16 minutes.
It was amazing and very powerful teamwork.
Then came the fire.
Let me just say too that it was a pretty chilly day and as the sun set it became VERY cold.  Our layers weren't working so much for us anymore so this huge fire was delicious.
We had to gather in a circle with 8 people, which we grabbed all of our relatives... Marianne, James, Maryn, Heather, Matt, Me and Danielle.  One person went to the center of the circle while we each took turns facing that person and saying, "the magnificence I see in you..."  I think it was so much more emotional and meaningful for us because we already knew and loved each other and we could share deeper feelings of why we loved that person.  Many tears were shared too.  In fact everyone else was done while we were still sharing.  That was one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend.
And did I mention that I LOVED sharing this time with Maryn?  I watched her bond with all these amazing grown-ups, goof around with them and actually live her true self during this time too.
The coals were being prepared for our fire walk.  They look sizzling HOT.
Maryn wanted to be one of the first to walk.
She did it.
A complete mental thing about overcoming because look at the smoke and red coals.
She did it 3 times.
Then Matt grabbed my hand and we did it together except you can't see our faces.
But, I swear that's me doing it.
We were exhausted as we went to bed that night.

Saturday, we loved the positive energy that filled the room.
We loved everyone that was there too.
And LOOK who was determined to show up!
Mom! Who had spent a late night at the ER.
The doctor saw that her shoulder was dislocated and put it back in place.  Owie!
But she still wanted to finish out her Conscious Creator experience.
She also found out a few days later that she would need surgery because a few things were torn.  BUT, what an awesome place for this to happen so she could re frame her thinking.  Instead of her thinking that "this always happens to me, I always have health issues, here's another problem that I have to deal with" she can change that.

Kris Krohn asked her to get up and share a little of what happened...
and then he stood with her and helped here deal with it in a different way.
Here's some of my notes of what he said to her...
*Love the shoulder, it is evidence of my greatness.
*remember that moment on top and hold on to that feeling.
*If you look at it as a negative experience what will that do to your healing and to your
take-away of the ropes course?
*It was NOT a negative day for Marlene.
*erase the pattern of the past and start a new pattern.

I WAS SO PROUD OF MY MOM.

Now that we are a month or 2 beyond that she has had surgery, she never once has complained of her shoulder hurting and the doctor was amazed at how quickly she has healed.  I believe that she started her physical therapy earlier than expected.  Yes, she took longer than she wanted to get dressed in the mornings but she did it and my dad has even had to help her curl her hair but... it's just a minor speed bump.
She is a fightin' tough grandma!
The whole event was filled with so much amazing positive energy.  We made good friends, we bonded.  Maryn compared it to EFY for old people.  But, I suggested that they start a Conscious Creator for teenagers.  It was awesome!
I want to share some random thoughts and ideas and quotes that stood out to me over the course of the 3 days:

*Never entertain a limiting or negative thought.  Do not let it be apart of me.  I am allergic to negativity.
*We all want to feel happy and fulfilled.  We all have different purposes which is why we can't judge.
*Your life is your creation.  You only get one chance at this life.  Your life is on the line to change.
*stop defending your smallness.  How does it serve you?
*we are programed to finding excuses for why we can't stand in our greatness.  Stop giving power to that thought!
*What you put energy into expands.
*If you spend your life avoiding risk you will die with no growth or experience.
*Give your spirit permission to have dominion over your body.
*You attract into your life what you think about most.   Law of attraction.

It was a fantastic weekend.
I loved it.
There was so much Positive High energy in the room that we all wanted to keep with us forever.
I was ready to go home and apply what I had learned the biggest of which was that ANYTHING can happen to me but I have control over what it does to me.  I will not allow anyone or anything to have power over me.  I want to live BIG!  and DREAM BIG!  I want to live my best self!  It only matters if I can imagine for it to happen.
I will attract into my life that which I focus on the most.
The impossible is Possible because I WALKED ON FIRE!
If I can do that then I can do anything!

I have the tools now so watch out!
