Have I said before that Love Ady's piano teacher,
David Glen Hatch.
He loves his students too.
And he's so patient with Ady who's not the best practicer but he loves her ability and potential and so he keeps us on as students.
He knows how to push Ady to get her to go beyond what she thinks she can do.
She was 2 pages short of finishing her Haydn Concerto but had her perform it in the Concerto Competition. She wasn't quite ready for it but he challenged her to do it anyway. (she did win 1st place in the last competition afterall so why not?)
She got up there and did an amazing job!
Here she is with her certificate, so thankful that it's over. Her hands get so freezing cold and she wants to die before she gets up on stage. Next time we need to bring some hand warmers for this girl.
Kaden jamming out after the performances.
The kid's school gives the kids lots of opportunities to perform in their "Show What You Know" assemblies each week. They memorize poems and jingles and super smart stuff. I love to go hear them and be amazed at how brilliant my children are.
Emmy got the Reading Award from her class for the month of October...
meaning that she reads a TON of books. Nothing new actually.
With all the other winners.
Actually, Emmy was sick the day before this and I forced her to school on this day. She cried at how mean I was making her stay at school. This award is usually a secret and as she was begging me to take her back home I kept saying, "you are going to really want to be at this assembly because something amazing is going to happen. You can't miss it. I promise you have to stay here!"
She said that I gave it away that she was getting the award. Oh well!
The school does the most amazing honoring of Veterans for Veterans Day. It is very emotional for everyone there. Even students get teary eyed.
One of my favorite things that the school does. I love that my kids are part of such amazing patriotism.
Emmy peeking through the group at me.
Ady sitting with the 8th grade girls! So cute.
Just randomly throwing this in here...
While I was making dinner one night Kaden handed me this map and then ran off. I had to use the map to find where he was. It was SO cute! Love this age of drawing and figuring things out.
