So Proud

Ady has been taking piano lessons for a year now from a most amazing teacher...
David Glen Hatch.
It's amazing to me because I grew up playing his church arrangements that he did and hearing his name.  He is a world re known performer, teacher, and composer.
We feel most unworthy to be taking from him, but yet, so grateful.
I will just say that he has brought out some fantastic music from Ady's fingers in the year we've taken.

In March Ady reluctantly performed in a piano competition for all the students taking from teachers in Utah Valley.  She had her basic performance, playing 2 pieces in front of 3 judges and about 8 students.  Overall, there were 130 students in her age division performing.  If she got a score of 38-40 then she progressed on to the next level of competing  in front of 15 students and 3 judges.  She got a 38.  This time there were only 30 students playing in her age division.
From then we would got word that Ady would perform in the "winners recital" a few weeks later.  Dr. Hatch sat us down at our lesson and said that Ady was selected to perform in the winners recital.  He asked how she felt she did in the previous 2 performances, which she said, "just fine, but all the other kids were really really good."  He said that he was glad that we were sitting down because he was happy to announce that Adyson had gotten FIRST PLACE in her age division in the competition!!!

What the...?!!!!!!!!!!

We could NOT believe it!
Actually, I could believe it because Ady had done an amazing job!  But, I could NOT believe that she got FIRST place out of 130 other kids.  We both walked around with an astonished look on our faces for the whole next week as Ady prepared herself for the Winner's recital.
She was nervous as heck!

Here are the other students who placed as well.
The recital was AMAZING!
Ady got a lovely certificate and an envelope with something in it.
Here is Dr. Hatch with his great students who also placed and performed at this recital.
We were SO proud to be apart of his studio.  He loves his students!
In the car, Ady opened up her envelope and saw she received money!
Albeit it was only $20.00 but it was money!
Yeeha!

Maryn was asked to sing in a little trio for one of her Sunday night devotionals at her school.
We were excited that we all could come and cheer her on.

Grandpa always giving her a cheerleader pep-talk, saying,
"Come on now Maryn, you can do it!  Work hard!  You're awesome!  We love you!"  etc. etc.
I always pray that what he says sinks into her heart and she can feel his Priesthood Power and feel how much he loves her!
The girls singing in their most lovely voices.
Love Maryn and the experience she is having at her school.
