Uncle Bubba is our favorite toy!
He's one of the kids and SO much fun for them to play with!!
His fun and jokes and stories and games are MAGIC.
One day when nothing special was going on I got the best call of my life.
Ami and Tim Cragun were visiting from Las Vegas and happened to be at IKEA which is 5 minutes from my home.
I ran over to see them.
We shopped for a bit then found a cozy corner couch where we sat and chatted for an hour or 2. Tim took my car keys and said he was going to wash my car for me.
Why did I cry when he did that???
I love these people so much!
My time with them was MAGIC!
We can't get enough of holding baby Kate!
A new baby's spirit in a home is like Magic!
We bought "Happy Cups" and have a tasty drink in them every day after school to discuss happy things.
Having fun traditions that keep our home happy and spontaneous is MAGIC.
Shortly after moving to Bluffdale Emmy started talking about being Miss Bluffdale. I have no idea where that came from but she asked every question in the book from "How old do you have to be to be Miss Bluffdale," to "How can I become Miss Bluffdale?"
So, when we saw the signs out advertising the Miss Bluffdale Pageant Emmy was crazy with excitement.
We HAD to go.
She brought her cute friend, Emily and together they became their own judges of the pageant declaring who they thought would win; who did NOT answer the questions; who performed a lame talent; who was the prettiest; and who had the best formal wear. They kept tally marks in their program.
As a side note the girl who actually won was not the one they would have chosen.
Emmy was in Miss Bluffdale preparations for the next several days.
She has now since declared herself Miss Bluffdale 2019.
Beware future contestants!
You are going up against a mighty strong force, Miss Emmy Slichta!
Her energy is Magic!
We loved going to a Sunday Devotional with Maryn. I took this picture because I was so much enjoying watching these 3 sisters interact. They are all super funny together and such good friends. I think they are all starting to look a lot alike too. Magical things happen when they are getting along and having fun!
They are my favorite!
Their hair color used to be so different from each other but now look how similar their hair color is?
It is fascinating for me to see how different each of my children deal with stress and challenges. Especially, the current hardship of divorce is something that they are all dealing with in VERY different ways.
Emmy has been talking to the school counselor about stuff. She loves a listening ear. If the counselor forgets her appointment with Emmy then Emmy is quick to track her down so they can have their special talk-time. I am grateful for this counselor who has helped this particular daughter who has a need to talk.
I can always tell what is on Emmy's mind by her writings.
This is what I found hung on her bedroom wall one day.
I also loved this cute note that she wrote to her teacher.
Emmy's writing is magical and I predict it here and now that Emmy will be a published author not very far off into the future. She has an amazing ability to write very creatively.
During the day to day hectic life that I live and especially during the day to day trials that wave in and out quite frequently, I have found that there is a lot of JOY in the little magical moments.
It is those moments that we remember.
It is those little moments that make life sweet.
It is those moments that I have tried to focus on because those little magical moments add up to be a VERY magical and happy life!
I am very blessed!
