Our Birthday Galaxy

My Kado Boy had a birthday.
Why is it that I just want to keep my youngest little?  I want to snuggle him more.  Hang on to him longer.  Keep him teeny tiny.  Kiss him all over his face all the time?  Why?  Why?

Stop growing buddy boy!  Stop!  Listen to your mother and stop!

He got a basketball standard which made him so super excited because according to him, basketball is his new favorite sport.
We had a Star Wars family party with so many out-of this-world food choices.

He got Star Wars band aids!
and a head light from the Shumans.
He had so many fun games to play... the secret chain...
And Heads-up seven up.
That was the funnest game to play with a big group because, really, when is the last time you have played that game?
The 1st grade at school?
It was super fun!
Here we are trying to guess which one of these kids touched our thumb.
They all look guilty to me.
The boys trying to be strategic about whose thumb they will touch.

Then we played musical chairs.
Always a wild time with that game!

Then, London Bridge.
Love the mind of a 1st grader and his idea of a good time.
Some times we get stuck playing the same games all the time so this party was a HIT thanks to Kaden and all his ideas.
Then, Bubba and Milo did some wrestling with the kids.

Oh, I love this preshy cute boy.
He's growing too fast.  Seven Years old.  What's up with that?
He is a perfect mix with being a tough dude and a snuggly, loving boy.
He loves to do whatever his sisters are doing but he also loves to hang out with his friends his age.  He's into basketball and soccer right now.  He loves hot dogs, corn dogs and Doritos and could eat them at every meal if we let him.  He loves to wear his shorts and flip flops even in the Winter.  He is a super natural dancer and loves to groove around the kitchen or as he walks up the stairs.  He's been learning the guitar for almost a year now and doing really great!
He has been learning about Respect at school and trying to be respectful at home. He made a little chart with everyone's names on it and when they are happy or sad or obedient he asks if they get a "respect point." I'm not sure what the winner is going to get but so far Kaden is the winner in having respect. If I ask him to set the table or drink his smoothie he'll ask, "how many respect points will I get if I do that?" Yep, he's the big respect winner!

He's been suffering from terribly allergies lately.  His eyes are always red and swollen and he can sneeze 5 sneezes in a row!  That's a family record I think!

He loves to read books in bed after I have tucked him into bed.  He's getting to be a huge reader.
He is really smart at math, adding and subtracting and even learning his multiplication.  The best part is that he can do it all in his head, unlike his sisters who need to use their fingers to count.
His teacher at school says that she can always count on Kaden for being a good example.  She loves that although he's friends with a group of "cool" boys he is able to say NO to them if they want to do something that they shouldn't.  When he got straight A's on his last report card I asked the teacher if that's what all the first graders got.  She said, "NOOOOOO" that Kaden is very conscientious and a high achiever.  He always finishes his homework and turns it in on time.  He always studies for his tests and does his best work!  Yea for Kaden.  He's an awesome kid!

He's such a happy boy!  He loves his family and his sisters.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this boy!
On Sunday Spencer and Kaden ate their Sunday dinner each using their special birthday plates.
