School stuff

Here are a few pictures of some end of the year things that went on for school:
Maryn was on the school dance team that practiced after school.
In my humble opinion as her mother,
she was the best dancer out there.
and the cutest one too.
Grandma and Grandpa and Merrill came to watch this grand performance.

Ady played the Cello in the orchestra.
She liked it because not a lot of people played the Cello
and I think she looked adorable playing it and carrying that big thing.
It was a bit cumbersome hauling back and forth to school which made her wonder if she shouldn't have chosen the violin or piccalo.
(Ha!  That could have easily fit in her back pocket.)
The school had a Memorial Day assembly which was quite moving.
They honored veterans.
Had speeches written by students.
Sang patriotic songs and recited poetry.
Did a slide show and had a speaker.
Kaden's class did the first part of the Gettysburg Address.  Kindergartners.
Emmy's class did a cute poem.
Ady's class did a dramatic poem with actions and everything.
Maryn sang in the choir.
How often can you go to a school assembly and have tears fall.
Yep.
I did and so did the people around me.
I tell you, this school is awesome.

Ady is front row there... shorty.
Maryn is second row, middle
singing away.
Ady was caught away in the Spirit of it all,
pondering the grand things she will accomplish in her life.
Kaden and Emmy were too far away from me to take a picture but they were adorable.

This school focus' a lot on America and being patriotic.  I love that.  So many schools have stopped saying the Pledge of Allegiance, but APA says it daily and can sing at least 2 verses of the National Anthem.  They did an awesome Veteran's Day assembly too which was equally as wonderful.  It's great for these kids to learn such important stuff and it was nice for the parents to take time out of their day to come and reflect on the blessings we have living in this great country of ours.
