Maryn was hanging out with her Pageant friend, Henry who was going to ask a girl to Homecoming but asked Maryn instead. She came home so excited to be going to her first ever school dance... at Lone Peak High School in Alpine.
We had one week to get that girl ready.
Friday night we still didn't have a dress so we went to Provo and shopped their stores. Emmy and Ady had the most fun shopping for dresses for Maryn.
We picked out the dress and shoes as the stores were closing and it was late, so we slept over at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
We had so much to do by 10:00 that Saturday morning and my MOM was the miracle worker helping us in every way possible.
Hemming the dress.
Making the boutonniere.
They walked the neighborhood looking for the perfect rose to snip from a nice neighbor's bush.
Then, they had a boutonnier making lesson.
(Maryn woke up with a very sore neck so kept a heat rice pack on her neck all morning.)
Then Ady pretended she was the date while they practiced putting the boutonniere on.
We raced home for her to get ready for
Henry to come pick her up to go to Air Time back in Provo.
Then she came back home to get ready for the big dance.
The sisters had the most fun helping Maryn get ready.
Some neighborhood girls came over to watch the process of getting ready for the ball. Maryn was the lovely princess.
Henry came dressed just like himself and they were both ready for a good time. He had the perfect personality to make it a totally fun evening for Maryn.
As a side note Henry's mom and family went to Pageant long before I ever did as a teenager. I even went to Israel with his aunt. So, I felt completely safe and happy that Maryn was going with him.
Fun times for my Maryn!
She deserved this date with such a good friend and they had a great time!
Just included this picture of these pageant friends when they hung out together on a different day.
Good kids.
