Emmy was feeling some emotional buildup in her life that needed releasing. As soon as she started talking about taking horse riding lessons I picked up the phone and made the arrangements.
The trainer, Jamie was so nice and allowed Emmy to do everything right off the bat in brushing the horse and putting on the saddle. Here on her first day Emmy wanted me to stay and watch so I could take pictures. After the horse was ready Emmy led the horse down to the riding arena.
Emmy was so comfortable with the horse, Sarah. Even Jamie was amazed at how comfortable she was with riding and kept asking, "are you sure you've never ridden a horse before?"
After the first week Emmy decided that going around and around in circles in the arena was too boring. So, they went on the trail from then on out.
Emmy LOVED her horse riding lessons!!
She looked forward to those lessons for the 4 months that she did them. She loved, Sarah the horse and Jamie the trainer. She wanted to keep doing them but it turned Winter time and was too cold. When I asked Emmy why she loved riding horses so much she said because when she was on top of the horse riding outside she felt free and happy. She didn't have any stress. Her mind wasn't worried about anything.
Mission accomplished!
Emmy loved her Activity Day group.
She was the oldest in the group for many months.
This is a fun day that they had at the "This is the Place Monument" park.
Emmy had a harp recital at the University of Utah.
The girls wore black dresses with these lovely jackets. It was a very elegant performance with all the harps. This was the last time Emmy would play on this harp since it was getting too little for her and time for a new one. Emmy was embarrassed to be playing the "baby harp" compared to all the other big harps and didn't even want to do it but we convinced her.
I loved it and was so proud of Emmy!!!
Little Elsie even came to the concert since we were babysitting her for the day.
Emmy practicing in the morning before school with her uniform on and her BRAND NEW HARP!!!!!
Yippee!
It is so big and beautiful!
What a happy day when we brought that harp home!
It is a petite, Chicago pedal harp... no more levers to make playing so tricky.
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Emmy!
