A Grandma's influence

Whenever my mom comes around we all of a sudden start feeling craftsy and domestic. We always bring out the sewing machine to mend and hem and create things. Here she is teaching Ady how to hem her own jeans... a skill that Ady will most likely need her whole life since she's since a teensy thing. While watching a Christmas special we had to keep our hands from being idle with our crochet/knitting needles. Mom never goes anywhere without her knitting needles... we used to tell her to just sit still and relax, but we've since realized that she just like to multitask. I'm finishing up a blankie for Ady. Maryn is knitting a scarf and Mom is working on her bajillionth dish rag.
Our favorite game of the season was "Take Two" thanks to the Debenhams. The other theme of the season was how cold mom was in our house. I admit we keep our house on the cooler side but you just add a sweatshirt and socks. Even after she added clothing Mom used our scented candles to keep her hands warm too. She got 2 candles- one for each hand. She was chilly willy!
Having Mom around definitely lightens my load.
But, not how you might think.
The girls always want her to practice the piano with them. And she does a great job too! Once a piano teacher, always a piano teacher.
