Happy Christmas Day!

My brothers even now tease me for being the first one up on Christmas. Not this year. The kids actually got up around 7:00... opened their stockings and then woke me up around 8:00.

I grew up with the belief that because you have all of Christmas day to celebrate and because Christmas took so long to prepare then don't rush in to opening your presents. Spread it out. Once you start opening your presents then open things one by one so everyone can enjoy and watch and give thanks. After having my own children and knowing how much goes into preparing I whole heartily agree. SLOW DOWN!

So, we have breakfast first! This year a green smoothie was on the Christmas breakfast list. It's green.

Ady's favorite the whole Christmas season was the nut bowl. She's a nut!

We had a breakfast casserole this year along with Grandma's custard!

In no particular order, here are the highlights of Christmas...
Adyson is our blanket, snuggle girl. So, when we saw a pink, kids Snuggie thing I knew we had to get it for her. Yes, it's a bit goofie but it's perfect for our little cold girl.
Emmy received many books which she immediately started reading.
Kaden has a nursery leader, Brother Hancock who plays the guitar. He brings it every week and gets the kids singing and dancing to his playing. Kaden loves it and has decided that he wants to play the guitar too. Brother Hancock surprised us by giving Kaden his own guitar for Christmas. I have always wanted to play the guitar and have had it on my Christmas wish list for many years now. Finally, this year I got it! Me and Kado will be hitting the duets soon.
Our final presents are always done Scavenger hunt style... all around the house. Ady got an I-Pod!
Emmy's big present was this ginormous Bean Bag chair to read on.
Maryn got a nice stereo I-Pod thingy.
Kaden and his Home Depot tool bench.
I made Jeff a ring out of a 50 cent piece. It helps to know a jeweler.

We didn't finish opening all of our gifts until after 3:00. It wasn't that we had that many it was because we took it slow and had several breaks to play with some of our things. It was such a happy day... ending with lots of game playing, hugs and kisses! I love Christmas! We loved having Grandma, Grandpa, Marc and Merrill too.
