Christmas Eve

Since Merrill is living in Chicago, he knew that we would appreciate something from Chicago for Christmas. What else is there to give besides Giordano's deep dish pizza... overnighted.... fresh... thick... cheesy... yummy. Hence our Christmas Eve feast. (we had to get a Papa John's pizza for the kids so they wouldn't eat the "adult" pizza.) LOOK how thick!

The nativity. Adyson is the Angel of the Lord. Emmy- Mary. Kaden- Joseph. Plastic baby doll- baby Jesus.

Marc, Merrill and Maryn were the wise men. They each gathered their own gifts to give to baby Jesus. Creative.

Grandpa reading the Luke 2 story from a children's book which was illustrated by my mom's cousin, Jerry Harston who passed away a week before Christmas. His talent will be missed. Mom is there taking notes of the evening. (she's always taking notes of something.)

I was focusing in on this cute picture of Marc and Kaden snuggling when Kaden went up at the last second for a nose pick.

Emmy was Mary the whole evening. Love to see those brothers loving my kids.

As part of our program the girls performed some singing and piano playing. Emmy played her Christmas pieces on her harp. Awesome hole in the knee Em!

After all the children, and adults were nestled in their beds, I enjoyed a late moment to myself. I sat on the couch and stared at the tree and all the presents arranged underneath. I felt the magic of Christmas. I thanked Heavenly Father for my blessings. I love my family so much. As I sat staring at our tree glowing in the night I felt in my heart that things were meant to be challenging in life. If it were easy then something is wrong. I had it confirmed to me again that Jesus is who it's all about and if we stick with Him then He will pull us through those challenges. He should be the center of each day, not just at Christmas. I want to do better at making Him my focal point and teaching my children that all the answers lie in following Him and serving His children.
I felt peaceful.

There are special people snoozing away in this Christmas house.

Merry Christmas!
