Happy Easter in April!
Loved it.
It means General Conference which I LOVE.
Which as a side note, I love that my kids by their own free will and choice sit and watch the Saturday Sessions too. I never make them do it, but they sit and watch.
Love the projects, the coloring, the note taking, the snacks, the handywork the cozy togetherness.
So awesome!
Easter also means that we are almost done with the blasted Winter and there is light at the end of the tunnel for warm and sunshine. It means starting again and rebirth and the Resurrection and flowers and blossoms and leaves and color and short sleeves and flip flops and Jesus and LIFE.
I love it!
Our neighborhood had it's traditional Easter Egg Hunt the Monday before at the park. Ady was an egg-hider so she held sleeping babies while the other kids were finding eggs.
Kaden loved to find eggs but even he said that it was fun to help the little kids find eggs instead.
We colored eggs with the cousins...
always fun and silliness.
Love that Grandpa still gets a kick out of coloring eggs...
he just likes to do whatever the grandchildren are doing actually.
The Easter Bunny came to the Slichta kids with his usually stringy maze to help the kids find their baskets.
Our Easter mantel display.
I had all my family over for Easter dinner. We were going to have the usual of Ham and Funeral Potatoes, green beans and such.
Well, Jeff also came and brought his cousins Stacey who happens to be a chef to the celebrities in LA. We felt very embarrassed by our ham and funeral potatoes and asked Stacey what she would like to bring to contribute. After a few conversations we finally settled that she would bring fruit of some sort and whatever else she wanted.
Well, here is her fruit salad...
Her ginger broccoli with some shaved fancy cheese.
A gluten-free pasta with cilantro, peppers, cheese cubes and a fabulous sauce.
And curry, coconut chicken cooked to perfection.
We could NOT stop talking about the food. My mouth is water just thinking about it all. Oh my! It put our ham and funeral potatoes to shame. She even asked, "what are funeral potatoes?" Fair question when you bring the fabulous dishes she brought.
Here is my contribution...
cute little bread bunny with dip and veggies.
I thought it was awesome and clever, right?
Our tummies were happy and full on this lovely Easter day and that was what matters.
The Shumans in their adorable Easter attire.
Emmy being cute
Maryn and Ady being adorable sisters.
Me and my darlings!
We did some egg hunting in our back yard too
Happy Easter a few months late.
It was a great day.
