Last June as I was pondering on my financial future as a single mom I felt the need to follow in the footsteps of the rest of my family and join an amazing company called,
Strongbrook.
Because of the business of life I just watched and listened at first to what everyone was doing and how they were growing with this company.
Because "everyone else was doing it" I signed up for the Convention in January mostly to have a get-away for a weekend to Las Vegas but also knowing I was going to learn a lot in the growing of my own personal business!!
In January we all made our way there.
Some of us had to stop at our new favorite traditional stop in St. George---SWIG.
Yummy!
Dad had an opportunity to "bear his testimony" of the company and how it helped him be on the road to retirement and how it was blessing the life of his children and extended family.
Then McKay, who started it all for us had a chance to share his thoughts and feelings on things too.
We had to keep pulling Marty away from the slots at our hotel. He kept saying, "just 5 more minutes."
Not really. He just wanted to reenact the blank stares we kept seeing on the people who were working the slots.
Mom and Dad up there being congratulated by all the founders for their success.
McKay and Danielle also being congratulated for their awesomeness too.
This is some of us at our table.
Taylor Johnson, Brinkerhoffs, Wes, Lois and Cathy Matheson were there too. It was a whole stinkin' family reunion there and it was a blast.
Have you heard of Tiona Von Johnson?
Well, google her.
She's a big deal and she was there. She took this picture of some of the family and posted it on her facebook.
Did I mention she is a big deal? So influential and a down-to-earth nice person.
This was of all of us at the end of the 2 day convention. I love that it's become a huge family thing... bringing us all closer in many ways is an added bonus.
Kevin Clayson, Tiana Von Johnson and Jay Morrison (big deal) were there and taught a class that I went to).
They were so nice to pose for this picture with me but don't I look like a shorty in between them? I also decided they look snappy and professional. I just look like a mom who's trying to dress up. Maybe I should take their class on fashion too.
We are on our way to a lovely dinner, by invite only. I only got invited because they thought Marty had a spouse and so he took me as his spouse. They put my name down as Lois. I didn't mind. I'll be any name you want me to be for a free dinner.
We're still just little kids.
All of us pretending like we're grown-up and fancy.
I did manage to get myself a massage at the hotel spa before the dinner. Needed to have a little pampering before getting back to the kids.
LOVED it!
After the convention was over I was able to have a little, private chat with Kris Krohn the awesome president and founder of the company.
Some family members thought it needed to be captured on my camera.
Unfortunately the only site-seeing we did was to the M&M store at night before it closed. The Las Vegas weather was so delicious and warm I was hoping to get out a feel it. Sadly we did not even step one piggy-toe outside to know.
The travels home was loads of fun with a full van.
Good things learned.
Good times had.
Great things ahead for me in my future.
The momentum is building. I can feel it.
good-bye
