setting the bar high

When Bubba found out that Maryn was 16 1/2 and had never been on a date he decided to do something about that!  He wanted to give Maryn a first date she would never forget and a first date that would set the bar high for the dates that would follow.

Uncle Marc, Marty and Merrill (Bubba) arrived a few days after Christmas.  They had previously called Maryn to be sure she was available.
She was excited!
When she opened the door we all squealed with delight as her dates stood there holding a small bouquet of flowers.

They presented her the flowers, posed for a picture, asked me what time I would like to have Maryn home and assured me that she would be safe.
As I watched her dates walk her out to the car, all arm in arm with her...
...watching her steps...
and all helping her get in the car...
...I knew she would be safe...
and I knew she would have so much fun!  I was jealous, I wanted to go have fun with them too.  She was giggling as she got in the car but I know she loved the attention and care she was given.
They went to lunch and went to Boondocks where they played lots of games for the afternoon.  She arrived home right on time.
I was SO proud of my brothers doing this amazing date with Maryn.  They are the most awesomest boys ever with such kind and giving hearts.  They really are gentlemen in the way they treat girls and I was so happy that Maryn could feel that she was special from them.  I was happy that Maryn could feel that she was special to her uncles.  She is a great girl with so much potential and she needs to know that it is possible to find young men out there who will treat her the way she deserves to be treated.  It made me smile really big to watch them drive off knowing that she would safe and respected and treated well.

I only hope and pray
that all the rest of her dates
forever more
will bring me those same feelings!
