Have I mentioned before how much I love my calling as the Young Women's President?
I really do.
It is such a blessing to associate with such fun girls who make me laugh and smile and forget my troubles when I'm with them.
When the Bishop called me to this position I really thought he had lost his mind...
to be in such a position of responsibility, to be required to GIVE and LOVE when my life has been in such turmoil...
I never thought I had anything to give these girls. But, their love and amazing Spirits made it so easy.
Now that I have been in this calling for a year I can look back and see the inspiration.
I am SO grateful!
Besides just learning so much in being in a leadership calling, I have been uplifted so many times by my association with the wonderful girls in my ward.
They have been a happy distraction which has strengthened me!
Love them!
Working with my own 2 lovely daughters is super special too.
We've had so many fun activities throughout the Summer.
BBQ and water balloon volleyball with the Young Men.
Girl's Camp:
had all the fun things a girl's camp normally wouldn't have, a sauna, pool, lake, cafeteria, horse back riding, bunk beds...
archery,
Skits on a great outdoor stage... look at our backdrop!
Beautiful!
Can you tell Maryn isn't bashful to perform?
The leaders skit.
Ady and friend canoeing on a lake.
Maryn on the paddle boats.
Maryn and Adrienne (a leader) bonding.
Ady on the bottom of that chicken fight... she can barely keep her head above the water.
Love love love these girls.
It was SO much fun to be with them at Girl's Camp.
Even though they didn't want to sleep in the same cabin as their mother I still hugged and kissed them every time we saw each other.
Lovely sunset every evening.
Hiking to Ensign Peak was a great activity that we had this Summer.
It turned out to be VERY windy as a storm approached so we didn't stay on top very long.
The moral of the story:
When in doubt, never say NO to a church calling no matter how crazy or scary it sounds.
You might be surprised with how it will bless your life.
