My special friend and mission companion, Silmara was finally sworn in as an American Citizen. It was a grand event that she had prepared for so long for. We were honored to be invited and enjoyed the specialness of this event.
There were 25 people being sworn in this day and 9 countries represented. All 25 were named off and cheered for. It was obvious that these people were all SO happy for their citizenship to happen and had worked hard for it to happen.
All of them being sworn in.
Cheering for them!
They did it!
Silmara was so relieved when it was over.
She said that the interview process and tests she had to take were so nerve wracking. She studied so hard, had to pay a lawyer and fill out an incredible amount of paper work.
It was awesome to be apart of this day with Silmara. What we all take for granted living here already as citizens. It was unanimous in thinking that Silmara probably knows more about our country that we know with all the things she had to learn and questions she had to answer.
Happy day!
We went to celebrate afterwards by taking her to lunch at the Blue Lemon. We gave her Americana gifts which she was giddy over.
She is ready for many good things to happen in her life.
Yea Silmara and yea for America!
