Doin' an Irish Jig

OK,
I have of my family attending a Scottish Festival for a long time.  At least once a year they would get out and dig deep in their roots to the few festivals that make their way to Utah.  They sometimes even sat at the Matheson Family table with the Crest and everything.  They were really into their Scottish heritage and getting into these festivals.  I thought it sounded crazy because why all of a sudden were they proud to be Scottish?

Well, when we heard there was a festival coming to Payson, I grabbed my kids and headed on over.
I guess it just takes one because my eyes were opened.

WOW!
Unbelievable!
Amazing!
Yummy!
Super Fun!
Bagpipes!
Kilts!
Buff men doing manly things!
Yummy food!
The drinks!

I am now extremely proud to be Scottish and I might just be back again next year.

This was our favorite part:
The tough guys in kilts, hefting the hay bales over the pole with their pitch fork.  Such a great competition.  (I can't remember what they are called but it's a sport worth checking out for sure.)

Doesn't it give you the shivers?
Ady purchased this awesome bottle of root beer.
We bring the bottle back next year and the root beer only costs a dollar.
Totally worth it Ady!
Then there was the Bagpipe competition!  Fun!
And the final closing ceremony!
We had to get a picture of the Payson Royalty with their kilts on.  I bet they're not Scottish but they sure had Spirit!
Emmy was enamoured with them since she's into beauty queens right now.
But now that we've been to a Scottish Festival we are all totally into being Scottish.  Love it!!
