some memories

FINALLY,
we had sod put in our back and front yard.  More pictures to come,
but we did have a blast with the tractor for a night.  The neighbor kids came over and each took a turn pretending to be the driver.
What do you do when you take your first shower
in your brand new house
and everything is still in boxes...
including towels?
You pull out paper towels and do the mummy-wrap.

A few weeks after school got out Maryn left for TREK with the youth of the Bluffdale Stake.
Since she had done the TREK last summer in Washington I wondered if she would ask to not go since it's such a tough experience.  There were several young women in that group who didn't go because they had already had a TREK experience.
BUT, Maryn was anxious to go and meet new friends and have a new TREK experience.
I was so proud.
(I was proud of her even if she didn't want me to come inside the chapel for the introductions and to take pictures of her.  So, this is all I got.)

She promised to wear her bonnet more this year.
But, if she did where her bonnet more than last year
it was not by much.
Her eyes were so sunburned and red.
And her face was sunburned.
But, she was happy
and loved her experience.
She is one tough pioneer girl!  Lover her!
Kaden got his cast off.
Yea!  The heat of the summer was making his arm SO itchy he thought he would die.
The first thing he said was, "Oh, my arm feels so breezy."
Then he just wanted to scratch it all over.
Can you tell it might take a while for him to get used to not having that cast on?  And until his arm is tanned evenly without that tan line?
