Happy Birthday to our favorite 12 year old!

Emmy was so excited for her birthday this year.
She had been planning it for months.  Not only was she turning 12, which is a big deal, she just loves any opportunity to plan a party.
Since she had been taking horse riding lessons she invited her  best friend Annie to go out on an hour long trail ride with her trainer and her 2 favorite horses, Daisy and Sarah.

Since the YW weren't kidnapping the girls like they used to Ady and Maryn decided to do our own kidnapping.  With a few of the Young Women that wanted to go too, we woke Emmy up, blind folded her and drove everyone to IHOP where we had a lovely breakfast and welcomed Emmy into Young Womens.
On the 29th we invited Grandma and Grandpa to join us in attending the Christ in Christmas nondenominational program at the Capital theater in Salt Lake.  We went to the Matinee.  It was a fantastic program with choirs from other churchs, the One Voice Children Choir, David Archuleta, David Glen Hatch (Ady's piano teacher) and Kevin Osula, the percussion guy from Pentatonix.  The concert was fantastic and a perfect way to start off the Christmas season.
Sitting right in front of us was Jenna from Dancing with the Stars, and So You Think You Can Dance.  She very kindly posed for a picture with her 2 fans.
Great time with Grandma and Grandpa and my kidletts.

Afterwards we met everyone at the Food Court in City Creek to have some dinner and then see the Lights on Temple Square.  The evening was perfect and again, another way to start off the Christmas season, together as a family, on Temple Square, seeing many lights... and celebrating Emmy's birthday!!!
We had a gigantic photo session.

Such a perfect birthday picture for my EM!  She is a good girl who is so excited to join Young Women's and her personality is so sparkly like all the lights and temple in the background.

On Sunday we had everyone over to our house for dinner.  Once again, Bubba facetimed us with the perfect song for Emmy.

She got the ice cream cake she wanted and her smile says it all.

I love Emmy so much!  She loves having friends!  She still loves reading and leaves books in every room like a trail showing us where she's been.  She loves to do projects, like make those rubberband bracelets.  She is such a quick learner on the harp.  She has so many friends.  Everyone is drawn to her smile and friendly personality.  She loves to try knew things.  She'd rather not spend too much time getting dressed or fixing her hair because there's tons of other stuff you could be doing.  She is always very sensitive to me and my feelings.  Her creative mind is her worst enemy hearing sounds, thinking there's a creeper in her room.  She plays with kids of all ages.  She is excited to become a babysitter for everyone with a baby.  She loves to cook.  She likes to make silly videos on the computer with her friends.  Life is a big party for Emmy which makes it hard for her to buckle down and work hard on something.  She always feels like she's missing out on a party somewhere else.  She brings sunshine into our home.  We LOVE EMMY!!!!!
