Fall Break Stacation

Fall Break 2014 was a week that the kids had looked forward to ever since school had started. I sort of looked forward to it but I still had to wake up 2 mornings for early morning seminary and take Maryn to the 6:30 am bus stop.  I looked forward to not making lunches or doing homework.  Because Maryn had school for 3 of the days we couldn't really go any where and decided to do our own Utah Staycation.
Day #1
*did a little sleeping and cleaning and then went to a movie.
Day #2
*Went for a walk at Bluffdale Park
*Watched Spencer play Basketball
*Went bowling
*dinner at Cafe Rio
Here is Kaden giving Spencer a pep talk during his game.
Day #3
*Babysat Elsie
*Swam at Provo Rec Center
*dinner at El Azteca

Day #4
I woke up sick and stayed in bed all day.
*Ady went to the Salt Lake Temple with the Brinkerhoffs to watch the girls while they went to a wedding.
*The other kids spent the day with the Shumans and went to the pumpkin patch.
(Ady had a photo session with the Brinkerhoff girls outside the temple.)

 She's the best babysitter.
Day #5
*We made a trip to see Dr. Nielsen in Heber.
*Afterwards we met the Shumans and Brinkerhoffs at the Hot Springs in Midway.
Everyone got into a little action with spa treatments at the Hot Springs.

The beautiful Fall was all around us at the Hot Springs.
The kids were pooped by the end of the day...

...but we had to hustle home because we had tickets to the BYU Homecoming Spectacular.
It was indeed Spectacular!
Some kids stayed the night at the Shumans and some stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house
Day#6
*We had to rise and shine early to get to the BYU Homecoming parade on time.  Half the fun for that was dressing up, at least Emmy thought so.
The kids loved catching candy and being so darn close to everyone marching by.

And the highlight was seeing Cosmo!

Emmy's day was made when she got a JDawg.

*After the parade and BYU Spirit we all felt, we switched gears and had an hour to carve pumpkins.  It was our only chance to do it with the Shumans, or do it at all before Halloween.  Everyone had gigantic pumpkins so it was a fast and furious carve session.

But they all turned out SO cute!
Rewind to the Saturday before Fall Break.  I had been craving to get up in the mountains to be a part of the Fall trees and colors.  So, I invited whoever wanted to join us up Little Cottonwood Canyon to Silver Lake. In the Valley it was about 78 degrees but once we got up to the mountains it was CHILLY.  We didn't come prepared for CHILLY but we came prepared with lunch.  We had a little picnic before venturing out around the lake.  (somehow my pictures got lost and I don't have pictures of everyone.  But, we had a great time!  I love being with my kids, my mom and dad and everyone else!)

Ady and Maryn headed out on their own to take as many pictures as they could of themselves.  They were the winners.  This is only a small amount of their pictures.  But, aren't they cute!

I love the Fall and I Love my children.
It was a glorious day being with BOTH!
The end to Fall Break.
We had SO much fun!  We were almost ready to get back to school so we could get some sleep and get back on schedule, but not quite.  We still had things on our list that we hadn't accomplished yet.  We'll save those things for our next Staycation.
