Ooooh Baby!

On August 28th, a VERY hot day in Utah we took the kids to Thanksgiving point to see the animals.
It was fun
and SO HOT!

Marianne was very pregnant and due in a couple of weeks.
She was VERY HOT
and VERY BIG.
Just before we cooled off with our ice cream cone in the deli
Marianne got a phone call.
look at her face.
She is getting some news.
Her news is that she has to go immediately to the hospital and have that baby!!!
No kidding.
It was her doctor telling her that her throbbing pains were not good and she needed to get that baby out ASAP!!
Quick change of plans!
I got the Shuman car seats while
the kids finished the cones
Marianne took off to go home and take a shower, freshen up, get her clothes and camera, get a blessing
and worry the heck out of the hospital staff wondering where she was.

Then,  a few hours later, through the window we all watched Lexy Mae be born.
(seriously, she was C-section and we watched her birth.  yikes.  I partially watched.)

It was all over before we knew it.

She was a preshy baby girl right off the bat.
Double cute pink bows and everything.
She loved to stick out her little tongue.
We stopped at the hospital to visit her as much as we could
and then we stopped at their house as much as we could to see her.

We loved that outfit that Lexy was wearing because it's been in the family a long time.
All the Slichta girls had worn it at some point.
I remember, like it was yesterday when Maryn wore it.
Wouldn't it be a funny thing if teenagers could wear the same style clothes they wore as babies?  Ha!

We didn't plan to have a new baby born when we were heading to our animal farm trip.
But, it was a great day for Lexy to be born...
Mom and Dad's anniversary.
Instead of a romantic dinner they were watching their family grow.
What a super duper anniversary present!
