House Progress

Towards the end of the summer we actually started seeing some progress on the outside of our house.
The most awesomest of all...
we finally got grass.

Especially where we live the wind is always blowing.   Dirt flies everywhere.  Dust from our yard flew like crazy into our house, in our garage, in our clothes.  We were a big mess.  So, grass was a beautiful thing.
Our mailman was the most grateful for our next new thing...
our mailbox.
It got to the point where he said he couldn't deliver our mail anymore without a mailbox.  He would save it for a few days and then bring it to our front door.  He was done.

A nice guy from our ward built it for us.
Isn't it a beauty?
When we moved into our house the back porch was a tiny slab of cement.
It was a good-for-nothing thing.
Once we had our pergola that the Christensens built we needed a patio of equal loveliness to go with it.

These Polynesian guys came to stamp the concrete.
They did a great job.  They were also funny.
A couple of times we would catch them jumping on our trampoline.
One guy ran across the yard to land a huge jump on the trampoline.  He totally biffed it and fell on his back then lay there and laughed and laughed.
He didn't know we were all watching, laughing from the inside of the house too.
We're lovin' our new backyard... little by little.
