Maryn has been getting ready for the Ballroom Nationals since January... intensely. Part of this process was in the last 2 weeks taking her in to get spray tanned.
Oh my.
She loved this whole process, to say the least. It's all quite foreign to her mother. The Thursday before they left for Nationals they had a big "Kick-off" where they performed their routines and debuted their new costumes.
It was awesome!
We were so amazed and Proud.
Not your typical bun.
Not our typical eye shadow.
Jeff was so proud of Maryn his buttons burst. This evening was what clenched the ballroom thing for Maryn in his eyes.
(finally I felt like all the driving, time, money was paying off.)
and we finally had daddy's full support. Yippee!
She looked so grown up to her mommy and daddy.
I talked myself out of going with the team to Provo because of money and family scheduling issues. But, when she was competing my parents called and let me listen on the phone. Picturing her in the Marriott Center competing with my whole family watching I was so so so sad that I wasn't there. I kept saying,
"I should be there!"
They were placed in Division I, which was their main goal... the top teams were placed there.
They were called back to perform later that night for the finals.
Again, my parents called to let me listen in as the awards were given.
6th place, 5th place, 4th place, The team couldn't believe it...then 3rd place and
SECOND PLACE!!!!!
They got 2nd place out of 12 teams.
This being their first year ever they were so happy.
This picture is taken off stage right after they got their medals.
