Ward "Trunk or Treat" on Saturday night.
Kaden is so funny with Halloween. He was so excited all month about being Luke from Star Wars. We got him a costume and he was going to be matchies with J.P. They even played in their costumes together and carried them around in bags. It came time to dress up for Halloween and Kaden got all insecure. He said, "but everyone will laugh at me." He refused to be Luke. Finally, we convinced him to be a firefighter... the same as last year. When we walked into the church he suddenly shut down and got shy. When it was time to go around and get candy, he went part way and didn't want to go any more. He came and sat in the car and helped me pass out candy. The crazy thing is that we have never seen him act like this in any other situation. Does the costume thing freak him out? maybe. Is he self conscious when he dresses up? It appears so. Weird.
Since Halloween was on a Sunday I was very nervous about how my little dumplings would react to the possibility of not being able to go out begging for candy. I even wondered, "what's the big deal if we did? It has the possibility of being nice family time."
Well, my own children took care of things on their own. Adyson especially was my great example. She said, "Mom, of course we're not going out... it's Sunday." I was so proud of the kids. They didn't even make a big deal of it.
Our great friends, the Debenhams had us over for FOOOOOOOD togetherness!
