Glo o o o o o o o o o o o o o o oria!

Christmas Eve
For one to have a perfect Christmas Eve, one must have the right dramatic effects for the reenactment of Jesus' birth. We did.
A perfect Mary and Joseph. The Donkey couldn't have been better either.

The cast.
It's weird that one of the Wise Men was "great with child" too.
Baby Jesus was so angelic.
The Bethlehem Feast.

Getting in character.

I just love the magic of Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning!!

In our house it's the special breakfast before opening presents. Oh, the anticipation but such patient children. We believe in spreading the day out so it can be enjoyed all the more. We work hard enough to get to this day so why should we have the presents ripped open by 7:00 am?

Then what?

I don't know. Just a philosophy I was raised with and agree whole heartily with as a parent.

Emmy got some baptism surprises... a dress and her scriptures.

Ady's scavenger hunt present was in a cereal box?

Jeff had 2 scavenger hunts. One of them really took him for a long search. Maybe it was because Santa had to go on a long hunt to find his present. (3 different stores all over town. Finally found it and went home. Upon arriving home received a phone call from Jeff saying, "guess what I bought?" Yep, it was the gift that was searched for high and low... the Josh Groban Christmas song book. Santa always has a hard time getting presents for Jeff that aren't returned. Finally Santa knew what to get and he goes and gets it for himself. Next year Santa says that he will make things simpler and get Jeff COAL.)

Oh boy, what a surprise! Emmy with her goods.
Ady with her goods. Kaden with his goods.Maryn didn't get a picture with all of her treasures but they included clothes, clothes, more clothes and a new phone.

We loved spending Kenley's first Christmas with her. She is so yummy! Kaden and Grandpa having Christmas dinner all alone together. (some guests didn't arrive, so 1 table very lonely. Marjorie and Marty invited the whole Matheson gang over to their home for a very formal and special and FUN evening. The Christmas china was fancy and the food was scrumptious. We had a 3 course meal with a cleansing the pallet even. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Matheson!! The entertainments was put together by yours truly and BUBBA!

We had an "assigned talent show."
Music was provided and costumes were put together spontaneously by each group. Time was given to practice.

Marjorie and Kaden were put together to do an Opera.

Jeff, Marc and Maryn were the drill team performing to "Eye of the Tiger."

The synchronized swimmers were Spencer, Mom, Danielle and Marty.

Merrill, Ady and Dad were the country line dancers dancing to "Achey Brakey Heart."

Marjorie's costume box was a fabulous addition to some of these costumes.
I was lucky enough to be a ballet dancer with Emmy and McKay. We performed to the Nutcracker Suites.

Maryn took advantage of having a professional ballroom dance teacher around and had a few lessons.Jeff thought it appropriate to stay in character as a drill team guy while he helped wash dishes. That night will go down in our family history as one of the funnest, most hilarious, loveliest evenings. Thanks M & M Matheson for hosting!
