Soccer

Emmy surprised us all by wanting to play soccer this Fall. She surprised herself with how much she liked it. It might have been because the girls on her team were all her friends from school but I'd like to hope it was because she loved the thrill of running and the exhilarating rush you get after a good workout. We loved going to her games and cheering her on. She was an aggressive player even though she had been seen visiting on the field, doing cartwheels or picking up leaves.
Her favorite positions were defender and goalie.
She was the only one on the team who hadn't played before. The funnest part for us was to watch her improvement each game. She really came a LONG way.

I love those pony tails flying around.
Goalie
She only had 1 breakdown as a goalie. The other team scored 4 points on her and Emmy came off the field crying. She said, "I did terrible! I hate being goalie!" Her awesome coach came over to her and said, "Is there any I in team? You play on a team and your teammates did not protect you. They didn't do THEIR job. You did awesome!" Emmy ran out there as goalie again and did fantastic.
As Emmy got better and better her father became more uptight and stressed out watching the games. A few times he turned into a side line coach until he realized that he wasn't helping any.
I love this picture of father and son watching the game.
Look at them both with their hands in their pockets.
The cheerleaders!
A few games in the rain.

At first the girls were hesitant to play in the mud and tried to clean themselves off when they fell, but by the end of the game they were loving it.
The muddy girl.

The parent tunnel which the girls (and Kaden) ran through after every game.
