Jeff's birthdays are coming and going so much faster than he would like. BUT, we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate HIM and we are always happy to have the opportunity to have a party. We had delicious waffles for breakfast. We had to do most of our family celebrating before the kids went to school since not everyone would be together in the evening. Jeff's big birthday present from me was a night out with our friends the Gehretts and Webbs. We went to a place called Skycart and lived it up in the fast lane. It was an adult version of the speedy go-carts.
We loved our racin' jumpers.
Jeff has been traveling about 1/2 of our current life together. Because of that we can feel the difference of when he is home and when he is not. We much prefer when he is home. He adds a little extra zest and laugh and fun. The kids fight over sitting by him at the table, driving in his car, begging him to drive them to school, tucking them in at night... He is definitely wanted by 4 little creatures here. He works hard for his family and has a good heart. Our new favorite thing to do together before we go to bed: read a good book. But there's more...while one person reads the other person is either getting their back scratched or their feet rubbed and then we switch. We look forward to that all day long. I am grateful for Jeff. He adds a lot of spice to our home and I love him a lot!
These were the covers we wore under our helmets but we thought it made us look and feel like Middle Eastern women.
This was really the experience for the racer jock. It was all about speed. We had our times printed out to tell how fast we drove, our speed, the average time around the track and who were our competitors. Well, after the first round these 3 dudes became the competitors.
Jeff loved the thrill of the speed and as for me I was totally car sick. Going so fast around the curves made me dizzy and want to barf not to mention I was so claustrophobic in this helmet. Auh! I spent a few minutes in the bathroom gaining my composure and trying to get the color back in my face. I barely had time to recover when round 2 was beginning. Needless to say I was happy to be the slowest driver of that round. I enjoyed the scenery and was just fine with that. But, the birthday boy was thrilled with his own personal victory.
