The only (ONLY! o-n-l-y!) thing that I like about living away from family is that when we go visit them we are the favorites and when they come to visit us they are the heroes.
Our relationships and time together means SO much.
That being said, it was a treat of all treats to finally have Marjorie and Marjorie (Marty )come for a visit. (That is what Kaden calls them and we like it enough to call them that too.)
Here, in no particular order are the multitudes of things we did with them.
Did I mention that it was a joy and an honor to have them to ourselves?
This is not our picture, but I had to capture somehow the glorious hike we did to Denny Creek. It's a series of waterfalls and smooth rocks that make for some good water slides. The hike was a mile up in dense, mossy forest. It was hot so the cold water was refreshing.
This is also not my picture, nor do I know any of those people. But, I had to give you an idea of what we did to celebrate Marty's birthday. Gold Class Cinemas is the most pampered way you could ever watch a movie. Recliners. Feet up. A waiter button in the middle of your "table." Waiters who check on you every so often, who bring snacks or a meal if you like (and if you pay.) I don't even remember what movie we saw. But that's not what was important. It was the experience. Regular movie going is uncomfortable and cheesy in comparison. Marty and Marjorie were impressed.
Duck Tours... how could we not do it again?
We had a goofy driver who let us try on some of his goofy hats.
One of my favorite things we did with them was on their last day with us. Marjorie wasn't feeling too good so we sat around and watched movies ALL day long in our cumfy clothes. We watched Black Stallion, Man in the Iron Mask (original) and 6 hours of the BBC of Emma. It felt so good to allow ourselves to sit around like that all day. I don't think I have EVER done that before. Another favorite thing was having them both around for 4 days or so before we took them to their cruise ship in Seattle. They went on a 7 day Alaskan Cruise before we went and picked them again to enjoy them some more. We got to hear all about their fantastic cruise. According to them everybody has to go on an Alaskan Cruise! My other favorite thing was watching Marjorie sew like a wild woman to get Ady's quilt done. She's amazing!
They both are amazing.
They left to go back to their busy lives as we stayed behind, again, only to miss everyone and feel sad not to be together with our family.
Thanks for coming!
Hurry Back!
