A week after school got out we left for Utah.
On July 8th Jeff and I left on a long weekend to Jackson, Wyomin' to see the Grand Tetons.
All I have to say is
relaxing and beautiful.
We stayed at the Cowboy Village right in Jackson. We would recommend it to anyone going... individual, small, cozy cabins.
Before we even checked into our cabin we did some white water rafting. We rafted for 2 hours, stopped for a fabulous BBQ and then rafted some more. Don't we look awesome in our skin-tight-chubby-sucking-wet-suits?! As ridiculous as we felt we really were glad that we had those on because we got drenched. The food was delicious, the ride was so dang fun and we had the nicest people on our raft. Yeeha!
With that introduction...
As we traveled down the highway paralleling the Tetons we came across the sign that said, "Historical Marker Ahead." Immediately I got excited started nudging Jeff's arm, "Please stop. Please." Since we had nothing better to do he unwillingly agreed.
Well, had we not stopped we would have missed out on the Cunningham cabin. Mr. Cunningham was a very important figure to that particular frontier. He donated thousands of acres to the Government. He also had some sort of Indian shootout thingy happen right there beside his cabin. So glad we stopped. Jeff didn't think so.
The Bar J Wranglers.
If you ever hear of them in your area you've got to go see them.
We were served a fabulous chuck wagon dinner and then were delivered a funny and fantastic show of singing, banjo pickin', foot stompin', knee slappin', story filled fun.
