Temple Trip

Last week we went to the Vancouver, British Columbia temple open house. We crossed the border into Canada and traveled internationally for the first time as a family. Ha! Jeff got to use his passport for the first time and I got to use my Washington State Enhanced Drivers License. It was super exciting. It was a rainy day but the temple was so beautiful. It was like a big, fancy, cozy house with pictures of Jesus all over it. Afterwards when we asked each child what their favorite part of the temple was they each had something different to say... Kaden loved the baptismal font who said, "Look Dad there's a hot tub!" Emmy loved the chandelier's in every room. Maryn loved the bride's room and Adyson loved the light furniture and happy feeling in the Celestial room. My favorite part was being in the temple with my family. I really felt the spirit and relished every second as we were all together there. In one of the Sealing rooms I placed all of us in front of one of the mirrors and looked into the mirror across the room and had a teaching moment of eternity. We want to all be nice and love each other and work together so we can be together for ever and ever.
I then remembered part of a wedding ceremony that I heard once... Jeff and I stood together in front of the mirrors. Standing the way we were we could also see us forever and ever in the reflecting mirrors. However, an interesting thing was that Jeff could see my reflection go on and on and I could see Jeff's reflection go on and on. We couldn't see ourselves; meaning that in order to live together forever happily we had to keep our eyes on the other person, thinking and serving only them and forgetting ourselves. I loved that. Jeff sure looked cute standing there in that mirror in the temple.
The landscaping was so pretty. The tulips were out and everywhere.
