We don't require much to make us happy. Although I would love a BIG thing to make me happy like going on a cruise to the Bahamas or a eating pasta in Italy, I have come to relish in the small tender mercies and little moments in life that happen right here in our own back yard. They are what make things extra tasty and delicious.
Jeff got his very first passport!! Now that is reason to celebrate. To appreciate the arrival of the little booklet you have to know that he was turned away from the DMV's dynamite secretary "Shaniquah." She told Jeff that his birth certificate was not valid. The nerve! Jeff did not let this stop him. After a little bit of H-E-double hockey sticks and pushing back our departure time to Utah he sent off the paper work with a prayer. It arrived back home in astonishing record time. Now, he is able to go to work in Canada. What is a more beautiful thing? It's just the little things.
I have served as the Primary secretary for the past 18 months. A month ago I got released and put in as a nursery worker. I was a bit shocked and unsure why I was chosen since I was in all the meetings where we discussed the person to fill that position of nursery worker. Anyhow, my tender mercy is that I am so grateful for this change. No meetings. No work during the week. Nursery has snacks and games and songs and bare feet and rocking chairs. It is the place to be. It is so fun! As a thank you for working in the presidency the ladies wanted to take me out for dessert. After telling me that I was allergic to sugar we tried to coordinate for lunch but it never happened. So, I received this lovely bouquet of... sugar. Cute! (just a note to anyone who ever gets asked to serve in the nursery... just do it! So many people say NO to that calling. WHAT?)
We have a little bunny that lives in our backyard. Kaden puts carrots in the grass for it to eat. It makes him happy. It's the little things... We need a new pet since our 2 fish got flushed down the toilet. 'nother story, 'nother time.

I can't believe that is Jeff's first passport! Time for some world travels.
I love serving in the nursery! I first served in the nursery with my mom, and she taught me all the ropes. I've served in their for years and think it's a great place to be. I'm always so surprised when people think it's the worst place to be.
Kaden sounds so fun. It'll be fun when our kids can meet and play together again! It was rainy and gloomy here all last week and it made Jakob and I crave a visit/move to Seattle. We loved it there!
