Weird thing #1: Jeff went to Washington D.C. a couple of weeks ago for a very important interview for a job. Usually he packs enough clothes for any occasion, any mood and any weather he might experience for the time he is away. He would never admit it but in my humble opinion I think he over packs most of the time. That's what makes this story even weirder. When he got to his hotel room after 10 pm he realized that he forgot to bring his dark socks to go with his dark suit that he would be wearing to the interview in the morning. He had no car to go buy a pair of dark socks. The guy at the front desk said that there were no stores within walking distance. The closest mall would open at 10:00 in the morning. Jeff's interview started at 10:00. He realized that he was in deep doo-doo. He would rather oversleep and miss his interview than wear white, tube socks with his dark suit. Not gonna happen.
As Jeff was ready to throw his hands in the air surrendering to his dilemma, he walked past the laundry room and noticed a nice business man doing laundry. Without hesitation Jeff walked in and offered to buy a pair of the nice man's dark socks. "Well," said the guy, "I'm just putting a load in now, but when I get done you can have a pair." Jeff restrained himself from hugging the man and returned an hour later to find the clean socks folded on the counter waiting for him. Jeff made it to his interview looking put-together, crisp and snappy like he always does. Hallelujah for charitable men who share dark socks. I'm pretty sure that if Jeff wore his white, ankle sports socks with his dark suit to the interview it would have been a complete disaster. But, stay tuned to find out what actually happened at the interview.Weird thing #2: Another weird thing that happened this week was this: weird hair. Although 11 years and 4 feet separate Kaden and Christopher Debenham from being exactly the same Kaden thinks they are the same. He thinks they are best friends... and they really are. At a recent visit with the Debenhams we found these 2 weirdos sporting their new hair-dos.
Weird thing #3: We had a weird Family Home Evening. In a desperate grasp to have some sort of bonding game for the evening while accomplishing some items of business we combined the 2. Making birthday cards. I took one person at a time into the bathroom, put bright lip stick on them, had them kiss a birthday card, then quietly stuck them in the shower to add to the mystery of what was going on. The next person entered the bathroom, applied lipstick, kissed paper, got in the shower until...
we all were in the shower together with lip stick on.
