On November 9th, a beautiful Saturday afternoon after doing our morning jobs to some rockin' out music, we drove to Provo and hiked the Y.
Maryn and Ady took right off being all athletic and wonderwoman-like.
Kaden and Emmy stuck with me... slow and steady.
Emmy stuck the closest to me as we philosophized about life and hard things.
"Emmy can do hard things" became the words we said as we kept the beat putting one foot in front of the other.
We talked about how hard things are hard but we become a stronger person when you have accomplished it. We talked about the view at the top and how much we would enjoy it because it wasn't just handed to us. We talked about our bodies loving the work out and how it was thanking us for loving it enough to put it through something hard.
This pink bandana was used as our life-line. Emmy and I held on to each end as we pulled each other to the top. We took turns being strong for each other.
It worked!
Emmy realized that she's stronger and more amazing than she thought.
The sky was so blue and the mountains were gorgeous!
Maryn and Ady waved to us as they were a few switch-backs ahead of us.
WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!!
The goal was in site and we were going to make it!
My amazing group of hikers.
I loved that they are getting older and no one needed to be carried or forced. Really there was no wining which made it so enjoyable for all of us.
Love this Utah valley view from the top!
We all realized that the view is definitely more amazing when you have to work and sweat to get there. That is true for anything in life.
Kaden and Emmy became life-lines for each other on the walk down.
Happy DAY!
Many happy memories for me of hiking the Y with friends and family over the years.
