On Friday we went to Sea World with the Stringhams.
Great decision.
Great DAY!
Fun people!
Look at all those cute kids!
Our first stop was the Shamu show. Kaden wasn't sure what the Soaker Zone meant and he was a bit apprehensive about it.
Once he realized then all the shows were in the Soaker Zone for him.
We left a tad later from San Diego than we wanted to but we enjoyed a delicious sunset...
... and a view of the San Diego Temple.
Maryn ended up barfing around Victor, then we had to take a few too many potty stops and had lots of traffic making it too hard to make it to Las Vegas for the night like we had hoped. We stayed the night in Barstow, which had we known what that decision would have meant we would have fought through the tired and kept on going to Las Vegas.
We were 3 miles from Baker where there was a terrible bus accident which kept us on the freeway, in a parking lot, dead stop, in 113 degrees for almost 3 hours. It was hot and miserable. I was so grateful for a new car because there were so many cars around us that got over-heated which caused more of a mess on the freeway.
The Baker Back-Up. We lived to tell about it.
Exhausted and starving we stopped at the Golden Coral in St. George. The kids were delirious. They thought this lady was so weirdly proportioned and had to take a picture. They said, "her legs look like she's a runner, but then you look at her stomach and face and she looks like she likes to eat at buffets."
Then, we had to stop at SWIGS, our newest most favorite stop in St. George.
These cookies are AMAZING and their drinks are tasty too. It's worth a drive there for sure.
After our St. George stop we drove through the most incredible lightning storm. It was bright, the rain pounded the car and the thunder scared all my littles.
Another exciting time to add to our trip... almost like we weren't supposed to go home just yet.
But...
We made it home at almost midnight after a super long day of driving.
Because we were exhausted we waited to clean out our sand-filled car til the next day.
But, our hearts were filled with happy, fun memories and we were so grateful for the funnest California trip ever!
