It was so fun and weird and cute to see Emmy walk up the stairs with the Indian costume on that my mom made for me when I was little. My mom immediately got the block down from the shelf to show Emmy what her mom looked like wearing that same costume. Emmy looks the most like me of all my kids and this picture proved it even more.
Check it out...
That picture is so fun for me to look at not only to see the little faces of 4 of the 6 of us kids but it also tells a lot about the crafty person my mom was...
She hand-made the decorations on the wall.
She designed and made our costumes from potato sacks and burlap.
She also designed and made our props, the shakers and Marty's drum (which you can't see).
She even made the clothes that we are wearing.
She made everything while serving her neighbor with a smile and a song.
If there is anything good or cute about us it is because of her.
I hope someday my little Emmy will look at this picture and think the same of her mother.
Well, she won't because I haven't made her any costume or article of clothing for her for that matter.
I better get crackin'!
But, at least, hopefully she'll have those thoughts of her Grandma and know that it is in her genes to be crafty!
