Have I mentioned that I live near one of my childhood bestie friends?
She is a super talented landscapers in the nation, maybe the planet, I can't remember which.
She is so smart.
She took on the humongous challenge of helping me figure out what to do with our yard.
Then she and her 5 big boys started building a pergola thing in our backyard.  She's the best mom!!!
This structure was mammoth.

Everyone had a hand in it and one day I actually had her dad, the awesome, Scott Anderson in my backyard doing heavy lifting.  Do you see them trying to lift the main piece up?  They later laughed at themselves thinking they could do it the 2 of them.  It was so tall that they had to come back with 6 men to lift.

Sometimes we would wake up on our summer mornings and find all these cute boys working in our backyard.  It sure got my girls out of bed earlier than they normally would have.
They were hard workers.  We loved having them over.

Seth and Kaden were helpers too.  Mostly they just watched cartoons together to stay out of the way.
And sometimes they brought other boys over to dig trenches.
Then we had the cement poured which made it complete.

Perfect.
After, we had the Christensen family over to do Family Home Evening in our back yard and enjoy their creation.
We did skits acting out stories in the Book of Mormon.
Can you tell that Ammon cut off their arms?
Then we did gymnastics and dancing in the basement.
And cheer leading pyramids.

Emmy and Annie spent summer mornings doing fashion shows.
And then they'd play tag games in pajamas.
We were sad when the Christensens finished the pergola because that means we didn't get our fill of them every single day.
But they were off to other projects around the city and like
Elliott from Pete's Dragon,
they were needed in other homes so we had to let them go.

Love their guts and we love our Pergola!
