When we heard that Ashley and Ryan from So You Think You Can Dance were coming to town with the show Burn the Floor we knew we had to go. (at least the girls in the family had to go.) We were not disappointed.
(They once asked me if I would join the dance group but I had to turn them down because I had responsibilities at home.
Seriously.
I know someday I'll be ready to be a dancer like that...
it just might be in the next life,
but gosh darn, I'm going to do it!)
Because of our good timing, we got tickets for the exact show that the older team at Maryn's ballroom studio got. Her directors happened to have danced with Ashley and Ryan at BYU so we got to have a special question/answer with the them and some others in the company.
It was neat to see them in person. They are so talented and just as nice as you would imagine them to be.
And Ryan's muscles are even bigger in person. They really are.
They've got the right idea when it comes to making money.
You do what you love.
Others dress you.
You get to travel around.
And you are in awesome shape because of your job.
Not a bad gig.
We got a picture of the young dancers with the professional dancers. Maryn had her first performance with her Junior Premier team at the Seattle Center. They did a great job and you would have never known that Maryn had only been a ballroom dancer for 2 months.
This is Maryn's team "uniform" or in other words what they wear when they're on their way to a performance. The reason this picture is important is because that shirt is a onesie. Maryn was crackin' herself and the family up when she modeled her onesie for the first time. Just when you think you're all grown up
